Page 1 of 2 Woes of Affiliate MarketingIf you are an affiliate marketer like me, your efforts are often hampered by two problems. ![]() The first of these is the loss of affiliate commisions. The second is a lack of any further interaction with your hard-won site visitors once you have sent them over to the vendor's site. Loss of Affiliate Earnings As an example, I've recently signed up at PayDotCom as an affiliate to promote a product called 'List Building Superstars'. The affiliate link I've been given is: https://paydotcom.com/r/19224/solavar/3193356/ Anyone vaguely familiar with Internet Marketing can tell, at a glance, that this is an affiliate link. For some reason, the average web shopper prefers to purchase something directly from the site, rather than through an affiliate link. The behaviour is strange when you consider that the cost to the shopper is exactly the same whether they purchase directly or through an affiliate link. Therefore, instead of clicking the link above, some visitors will simply use: https://paydotcom.com/ The link takes them to the PayDotCom website where they simply search for 'List Building Superstars'. They buy it and deny me the commission I deserve for leading them to the product. Site Visitor Unknown Of the few site visitors who will click: https://paydotcom.com/r/19224/solavar/3193356/ and get to my vendor's sales page, I have absolutely no idea who they are. Maybe only 1% of them will buy the product. I have no way of knowing. All I know is that I have to keep paying, in time, money and effort, to drive truckloads of traffic to the sales page so that a miniscule percentage of them will purchase. If I stop paying for the traffic, my meagre commissions stop immediately. Surely, there's got to be a better way, isn't there? Enter Squeezad Exit Warden The answer is called 'Squeezad Exit Warden'. This tool cloaks the affiliate link then calls an Exit Pop-Up on the vendor's sales page if the web shopper desides to leave without buying. I must emphasise the second function - 'Exit Pop-Up' on vendor's sales page. Some of you are probably aware of the various exit grabbing applications. These are designed to work on your own pages. Squeezad Exit Warden on the other hand can be invoked on a remote page. Since I'm opening a pop-up on someone else's site, I make a point of asking for permission before I do so. Turning the Affiliate Link into a SqueezLink Squeezad Exit Warden transforms the affiliate link: https://paydotcom.com/r/19224/solavar/3193356/ into the squeezlink http://www.solavar.com/promotes/List-Building-Superstars With Squeezad Exit Warden, I am able to build an opt-in list of people who are interested in a particular product. I no longer need to pay through the nose for the traffic to my offers. There are some who could not buy the first visit or even the second visit. A gentle reminder, by way of an email, is all they need to revisit the sales page and make that all important purchase. Check out these two links and see the power of Squeezad Exit Warden for yourself. Better still, sign-up to secure your own copy for your sites. |
